Photos taken by Paul Brown at the controversial Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi, Thailand, where around 100 live alongside Buddhist monks. Many were brought to the reserve as cubs and have grown up around humans. The first cub arrived in 1999 after her mother was killed by poachers. The Tiger Temple has attracted criticism from some wildlife groups who claim it is an illegal breeding facility and that the tigers are not sufficiently cared for.The organization repeatedly denies these claims. The center has become a buzzing tourist attraction where visitors can pay a fee to have their picture taken alongside the animals. The temple says the money goes toward caring for the tigers (each animal eats 13 pounds of meat a day) and construction of “Tiger Island,” where it is hoped the tigers will soon move to live in larger enclosures. ABC News spent three days at the temple and did not see any evidence of drugging or mistreating the animals. The founder of the center, Abbot Pra-Acharn Phusit, welcomes skeptics and experts, as well as everyone else, to come and spend time at the temple. Regardless of the controversy, these pictures show just how remarkably close these mesmerizing creatures can get to their keepers. Visited the floating markets in rural Bangkok today, so crazy but well worth the long drive out there to see!

Souvenirs galore with some interesting attractions - if scared of snakes I would be careful - and some yummy food too!

We took a long boat ride through the village and it was interesting to see how the locals lived, traveling from their homes to work, to shop and to their farms all by boats.

What a week!!!

Can’t believe my week at Elephant Nature Park is up! It was beyond amazing and was such a rewarding experience.

The elephants at this camp are all beautiful creatives. So gentle and funny and loving and cheeky. But each and every one has been harmed by human beings. Mistreated and abused, they have all suffered but now, at ENP can really live again.

I will never forget my experiences at ENP and I really encourage everyone to go visit the park if ever in Chiang Mai!

After an AMAZING breakfast at the hotel this morning we hired some bikes and cycled around the streets of Chiang Mai!

What a crazy experience! Luckily it was Sunday so the streets weren’t as busy as the other days but still, took us a awhile to get used to dodging cars and scooters!

Finally arrived into Bangkok! Our flight from Sydney to Kuala Lumpur was pretty shitty, we hardly slept and it’s definitely starting to take it’s toll on us!

We now have three hours to kill while we wait for our connection flight to Chiang Mai … Going to be a very long day!

Finally all packed! It’s taken me the past three nights to actually get everything together but I’m done and ready to go!

Bring on Thailand in just two more sleeps!!!
